About

Gallery Lofoten has Norway’s largest collection of paintings from Northern Norway dating back to the last century. The gallery’s first floor contains a collection of works by renowned artists such as Otto Sinding, Gunnar Berg, Even Ulving, Adelsteen Normann, Einar Berger, Ole Juul, Thorolf Holmboe amongst others. The second floor contains an exibition representing oil paintings, sculptures and graphics by Frans, Nico and Thomas Widerberg. Parts of this exhibition are for sale. Famous artist Lars Lerin lived in Lofoten for twelve years, and is considered one of Europe's foremost watercolor painters, and he has a big section on the second floor. On the third floor, the gallery houses a historical exhibition about Henningsvær and its history, including lithographies by the Norwegian artist Ørnulf Opdahl. In the gallery shop you find a wide selection of art books, postcards, and posters by the exhibition’s artists. Visit our winebar for a relaxing atmosphere and a good selection of wine.
