Trevarefabrikken
About
Trevarefabrikken is a cultural hub, serving food and offering accommodation. We will try to give tourists and locals a wide spectrum of cultural experiences during the year! Trevarefabrikken is an old factory formerly producing furniture, shrimps and cod-liver oil. After years of no activity in the building two pairs of brothers came over it after their summer vacation had ended up in Lofoten after chasing the good weather. The bank was not into the project, but when the four guys sold everything they owned they managed to gather the money they needed. After a year of thinking about what to do the guys decided to quit their jobs and studies, and move up to Lofoten. With good help from friends, the local community and different foundations supporting the protection of cultural heritage, cultural expressions and innovation, they opened an outside bar in 2016. In 2017 the first floor, the shrimp peelery, was opened. For summer 2018 they opened up one dorm and three flats.
