Volda Rural Museum and Tannery Museum

Volda Bygdetun is a museum with 19 old houses that make up a typical farm yard in Sunnmore in the 19th century. The oldest building here is from the 16th century, and the collection also includes an old school house with a lot of equipment. Visit the Tannery Museum as well, where you get an insight into the process of tanning hides and skins. The smell of the skins hits you as you enter the museum, and you can follow the interesting tanning process from start to finish. Volda bygdetun is situaded in the neighbourhood of Volda centre. Follow signs from main road 651, then follow Laegdavegen to the end.
