About

The hospital, together wtih the Chapel of St. Ann, was founded towards the end of the 14th century. It gained its shape knows today in the end of the 17th century. In 1945, sharing the fate of many other historical buildings in the town, it was largely destroyed and thus abandoned. During the years 1978-1989 the object was renovated and adapted of the needs of then organized History of Medicine Department of the Museum. It has kept all its valuable ornamental elements: wall paintings dated of the beginning of the 15th century in the St. Ann Chapel's apse (depicting Last Judgement scenes); very rare and hust as old two stoves of the former bath- these are available to the tourists thanks to archeological excavations; epitaph plates from the 17th century and 18th century pulpit. In the space of former hospital rooms exposed presently are historical object related to the history of medicine- antique medical books, prescriptions written in hand, graphic art, vessles used in pharmacy.
