About

The Castle in Niemodlin, one of the most interesting monuments of Silesia, a star of the screen! In the movie "Jasminum" by Jan Jakub Kolski filmed in 2006, it played the role of a medieval monastery of Camaldolese. The building owes its beauty to its unique, magical scenery. The castle is a late-Renaissance building. To get there you have to go through the gate built in the second half of the eighteenth century and farm courtyard, from which a bridge decorated with stone statues of saints John of Nepomuk, John the Baptist, Anthony and Florian leads to the castle. Four-winged castle with a Renaissance courtyard in the middle and arcaded galleries impresses everyone. The beauty of Renaissance architecture reminds the Wawel castle in Cracow. The Castle has played a significant role in the history of Opole Silesia. It was the residence of the local dukes. The walls of the castle have seen and heard a lot. And many things happened here. If you listen closely to the silence of the castle, its walls will tell you many interesting stories. To this day, people tell a legend saying that a tunnel connects the castle with the parish church. Is it true? We do not know... Restoration works are in progress and the aim is to restore former glory of this residence. A conference center, a hotel, a restaurant and a museum are planned to be located in the castle.
