About

Stary Browar (Old Brewery) is a landmark contemporary shopping, art, and cultural hub in the heart of Poznań, Poland. The complex was opened in 2003 on the site of the former Huggerów Brewery, blending historic industrial architecture with modern design by Studio ADS. Covering roughly 130 000 m², the mall hosts around 210 stores, a cinema, cafés, restaurants, a kids’ playground, and a curated art gallery space – the Courtyard Gallery – that hosts rotating pop‑culture exhibitions. A 4‑hectare park and the adjacent green civic square provide generous outdoor seating, while the historic Słodownia building houses event rooms and a cinema. The complex was named the best shopping centre in the world in its category by the International Council of Shopping Centers in 2005, and its design has earned multiple architectural awards. Stary Browar blends retail, dining, cinema, and contemporary art in a unique setting that attracts both locals and tourists.
