About

The Fragment of Ghetto Wall is one of the few surviving physical reminders of Warsaw’s Jewish Ghetto, a powerful testimony to the city’s tragic past. Located on Sienna Street (55), the stone wall—about three metres high—marks the former boundary between the ghetto and the Aryan part of Warsaw. Adjacent fragments can be found at 62 Złota Street, a six‑metre high wall of a pre‑war building, and at 11 Waliców Street, the former site of a brewery. In recent years the city authorities have renovated the site and installed a didactic zone, making the monument freely accessible to visitors from 62 Złota Street’s side. A short walk along these fragments offers an intimate, moving experience that connects history, memory and the resilience of the Warsaw community.
