For customers, the garden on the roof of the Galeria Północna, located on the 2nd floor of the gallery, is a place to relax in the open air while shopping. It also works perfectly as a space for organising extraordinary events, which the Galeria Północna is famous for. Every year, new arrangements and investments appear in the garden and its infrastructure is being gradually developed. Its numerous advantages include the fact that it collects rainwater and thus absorbs its excess during torrential rains, reducing the risk of overloading the sewerage network. The collected rainwater is used for watering numerous plants. The plant roof also captures dust polluting the atmosphere and converts CO2 into pure oxygen, thus improving the air quality in the region. On hot days, it lowers the building’s temperature, contributing to a reduced amount of energy consumed by the air conditioning system, and also reduces the level of noise in the environment. The space full of plants gives shelter to many species of insects, butterflies and birds, which translates into improved biodiversity and a greater chance of survival of these creatures in the city.
