Krupowki Street
About
Krupówki Street, the heart of Zakopane, is a bustling, car‑free promenade that stretches about 1,080 m. Lining both sides of the boulevard are charming wooden buildings housing souvenir shops, traditional Polish restaurants, and cafes. Visitors can stroll at their leisure, enjoy afternoon rides in a horse‑drawn carriage (and, in winter, a sleigh), and capture photos with iconic local mascots such as Zakopane‑style bears. From the street one can see sweeping views of Giewont – the famed “Sleeping Knight” mountaintop – and the nearby Gubałówka cable‑car lower station, making Krupówki a convenient gateway to the surrounding Tatra landscapes. The street also hosts seasonal fairs, live music, and in winter festive ornamentation, offering a lively cultural atmosphere for all kinds of travelers.
