About

Wielka Krokiew – officially named Wielka Krokiew im. Stanisława Maruszara – stands as the premier ski‑jumping venue in Zakopane, Poland. Since its opening in 1925 it has hosted every FIS Nordic World Ski Championships from 1929 through 1962, the 2001 Winter Universiade and countless World Cup competitions, drawing crowds of up to 40,001 spectators. Perched on the slopes of Krokiew mountain at 1,378 m, the hill’s 140 m HS‑140 design became the playground for record‑breaking jumps, most recently 150.5 m by Domen Prevc in 2025. Visitors can stroll the surrounding stadium, witness the historic record markers and experience the electrifying atmosphere that once saw Pope John Paul II preside over a mass on the hill’s grandstand.
