About

New Hand Lab was founded in 2013 and is located in the António Estrella | Júlio Afonso Factory. Today, with the rank of Cultural Association, it promotes creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship through the materialisation of ideas, products and initiatives. The space is home to authors and artists from various fields, such as fashion and textile design, multimedia arts, painting and sculpture, among others. New Hand Lab aims to be a space for promoting, boosting and publicising the most creative endogenous resources, and to boost Covilhã and Beira Interior in the country and in the world. The Cultural Association produces and hosts cultural activities such as shows, exhibitions and festivals. In addition to these activities, it is possible to take guided tours of the building. In the past, our art was wool; now, New Hand Lab preserves stories and weaves dreams.
