“Casa do Montado” exhibit is a space dedicated to Alentejo natural cork aok forest (Montado), as Alentejo natural heritage, that, in a simple and genuine way, intends to enlight the interaction between the forest and mankindin, its ecological, forestry, agricultural, livestock aspects , gastronomic, ethnographic, cultural and landscape. The exhibition includes 7 rooms dedicated to different contents of Montado, namely: The Mediterranean Forest – What is this forest and what distinguishes it Fauna and Flora – The biodiversity of the cork oak forest is one of its greatest strengths O Montado – The cultural and ethnographic heritage of a people Cork Stripping– An ancient craft in extinction The Cork Factory – From the tree to the cork, the journey The Herdade - The socio-economic and agroforestry unit The Montado Ecosystem – The Secret Lives of the Montado
