The Abrigo do Pastor Restaurant is located in Estrada das Carreiras (which gives access to Poiso), parish of Camacha, in Madeira Island. Located in the Serra da Camacha, this restaurant is a haven for locals and foreigners, a very typical Madeiran cuisine. Its history goes back to an existing cottage that served as a shelter for shepherds and hunters that was later transformed into a Bar and Restaurant. The restaurant's originality and concept marked this space, which today is known for being a secret corner where you can taste traditional Madeiran specialties, such as sautéed lamb stew, savory rice and seasonal vegetables, and the Portuguese stew that is served only on Sundays, among others. For dessert, an undeniable suggestion, curd with homemade pumpkin jam. Regional agricultural products and meat are part of the secret of this restaurant's success.
