About
MAMMA - Museum of Modern Art in Madeira opened its doors in July 2021. With an area of 800 m2, it is an innovative and daring museum, unique in the panorama of the cultural offer of Funchal. It contains about 300 artworks, including paintings and various types of installations, distributed over 14 thematic zones, in which creativity is the motto. Authored by Madeiran artist Rui Sá, which brings together 15 years of artistic creation. MAMMA and its artworks creation was based on the artist's passion for the avant-garde movements of 19th and 20th centuries, and it challenges visitors to discover a new prespective of great visual and intrusive impact.
