The Live Fish Station - Porto Pim Aquarium is housed in a building full of history about the cod dry, and that was the first whale oil extraction station. It includes a central tank and two other sets of tanks, with the most common coastal species of the Azores, an exhibition about the Azores Marine Park and a film about the deep sea of the continental platform contiguous to the Archipelago. The promotion of the Azorean sea’s biodiversity, environmental awareness and recovery of sensitive marine animals are the main tasks carried out by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change on this unit.
