An old farm transformed into an elegant accomodation where a lot of contemporary elements are abundant. There are country houses loaded with history. Quinta do Basalto offers an intimate,calm and private setting, so the guests may benefit from a breathtaking view, and therefore becoming a frame of an exhuberant and unique landscape. Close to it there are natural swimming pools, walking and hiking trails, horse rides... There is also a privileged view to São Jorge’s Island. It is only 1 km far from a natural beach in Calhau, 400 metres to the center of the village, and a few metres from a mini-market , a snack bar and the pharmacy. It is also possible to appreciate local areas of interest such as the Poça das Mujas and the Ponta da Ilha Lighthouse. It is a quiet place with total privacy. It is composed of four independente houses, as if it was a small village. There are ancient houses built with the traditional black basaltic stone of the Island,with an ocean view, garden ,barbeque
