Family-run since 1925 At the beginning of the last century, in the early days of the Republic, two old ladies "As Velhas" from the saloia region of Lisbon, settled in this place to serve homemade meals to the peasants who came to supply the city. In 1925 the modest 'Casa de Pasto' was improved and became a popular Restaurant, with the expansion and remodeling of the dining room. The new clients were the people of the neighborhood, Lisbon's castiços and the actors of the nearby theaters.
