Located in Belém, in the heart of the historical area of Lisbon, In Belém Hostel presents itself to us with a serene and relaxed ambiance, propitious to rest and exploration on our own terms. Going up the stairs, we feel the warmth exuding from the walls and the surrounding decoration, from the colours to the pots. The glass door signals a symbolic passage: a journey into Morocco, for the most daring of explorers. It is here that we feel the real impact of our choice. The true magic. The explosion of senses with the colours, the smells, the music, the environment. The moment of teleporting to the moroccan style, done with the personal touch with heart and soul in every single place our eyes can rest upon. Here is where we also have the first contact with the staff that greets us warmly, with a nice and easy smile, ever ready to help out. The visit, is such as travelling to the different cities of Morocco. Each room with a name of a moroccan city, we can clearly tell the difference of colours, styles, related to each of the native cities. It's obvious that in every cranny and nook of the space we find details that came from all over Morocco, and that brings this special shine to the eyes of the people telling us the story behind them. The bar, fully stocked from a native dream, it's a place of rest, research, gathering and sharing of ideas of liquors and cocktails, to the ones with more extrovert tastebuds. The offer is most varied, but constantly open to new ideas, with a menu ever growing. We also have a shared kitchen, where every guest is invited to cook in and leave behind the dishes commonly known and try out some of the existing recipes, and also to leave typical dishes from the native countries. The dining room, ou playful room, appeals to the creatives, to the competitives, to show new card tricks, to have chess play-offs, or simply if the unknown pairs of the board games can unveil the mysterious sign dance from their chosen partners. This is the place for new friendships, or, who knows, new directions. From here, we can also see the terrace, with a sofa, perfect to cuddle with a book and some typical tea, or enjoy the barbeque and a good night, intend to share some experiences and ideas, trade opinions and have a great laugh. We also find the first floor, where not only is a place to rest for the day after exploring Lisbon and the adventures possible to take part in, but there is also a place to sit down, gather strength and ideas, have a personal moment of introspection and release your thoughts and ideas into paper. The bathrooms, albeit shared, are separated, keeping the privacy of each gender in their space. Fitted with personal touches all around, specially for the overly distracted men, it compels us to keep the space in an orderly matter, helping to keep it clean and fresh and always feeling that will to leave it in a better state than what we found it in. The space is absolutely on point, from its decoration, vibrant ambiance, to warm and friendly staff.
