Founded in 1900, O POLÍCIA (The Policeman) is today one of the oldest restaurants in Lisbon. It started as a familiar tavern, and today, O POLÍCIA is already in its fourth generation. Teotónio Lázaro Miranda was the founder that, by the end of the XIX century, was determined to switch his policeman outfit for the kitchen apron. Today, are his great-granddaughters, Cristina e Teresa Miranda those who run the business. Our staff are with us for more than 30 years, proving the distinction of our tradicional food, which has grown from the learning by doing, from the expertise of years and years of a typically Portuguese kitchen, making it hard to compare. In O POLÍCIA we offer to our customers more than a century of traditional food that reveals a profound knowledge of Portuguese flavors.
