Since 2018, this is Portugal's only cooking class in a real bakery, taught by a professional pastry chef! This masterclass can be hosted by award-winning chef João Batalha, co-founder of Pastel de Nata concept store Nat'elier, or other experienced in-house pastry chefs such as Silvia Sousa or Valeria Barros da Costa. The workshop starts with an introduction to the history of Pastel de Nata. After you've geared up, you'll go inside our pro kitchen where you will learn how to bake irresistible Portuguese Custard Tarts. Unlike other Pastel de Nata classes around Lisbon, we will show you how to make puff pastry from scratch. Afterwards, we will make the custard and bake it all inside a professional oven. This is a hands-on experience! Everyone gets to make at least 3 tarts by hand - learn how to laminate the dough, spread it with a specific Pastel de Nata technique, fill in the custard, etc. We'll end tasting the warm tarts with a drink of choice, crafted by Nat'elier's baristas.
