Wines of Portugal Tasting Room
About
The Wines of Portugal Tasting Room in Lisbon, or Sala Ogival of Lisbon, is located in the west part of Praça do Comércio, also known as Terreiro do Paço, is one of the most emblematic European squares, named after the fact that there is situated the Paço Real. During two centuries (1511, in the reign with King Manuel I, 1755, with King José I) this was the place chosen to be the Royal Palace of Portugal. Rebuilt after the earthquake that devastated Lisbon in 1775, the square became known as Praça do Comércio. Nowadays, the elegant buildings that surround the Terreiro do Paço have a new dynamic that also houses government departments and ministries, with modern restaurants, shops, cafes and other services. The tasting room has a large space where the visitor can taste more than 1,000 wines from all regions of the country, with a small room for thematic tastings and a small library.
