About
Integrated into the series of the late Romanesque style churches, Jazente still preserves the decorative simplicity that characterised the period in which it was built. Outside, the composition of the portal stands out; it is surmounted by a tympanum with a hollowed cross. Inside, the Gothic image that invokes the Church's patron, Saint Mary - is still preserved. Jazente is associated with the poet Paulino Cabral, who marked the second half of the 18th century with his curious sonnets. This Church is part of the Route of the Romanesque.
