Located in the Monastery of Santa Maria de Aguiar, built by the order of Cister in the XI century, is located 2 km from the historical village of Castelo Rodrigo, winner of the 7 wonders of the villages of Portugal in 2017. The Convent of Santa Maria de Aguiar is a Housing Tourism unit, built by the order of Cister in the XI century, located in Castelo Rodrigo, to which reference is already made of Fernando II de Leon, dated 1165. It is one of the most significant monuments in the history of Portugal, where it was integrated only by the Treaty of Alcanizes of 1297, together with the entire region of Riba-Coa, the last to define the territorial contours of the Portuguese State. With an intimate and personalized atmosphere, guests are greeted by the owners with a welcome drink. The standard rooms, which have been recovered from the old pigstones, are now by the pool. The superior rooms are inside the Hostel itself, which housed the pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela.
