Francesinhas Al Forno da Baixa
About
Our specialty is "Francesinhas", a local recipe that, as story goes, was born in downtown Porto on the 60's. This delicacy was invented by a returning emigrant from France (Daniel Silva) who, in a moment of inspiration, decided to transform one of the most famous French snacks the "croque-monsieur". To this effect he added to it meats and typical Portuguese sausages as well as a spicy sauce, which would remind him of French women ... Very hot! Made by expert hands with the best ingredients, Francesinhas da Baixa offers 20 varieties without neglecting the most traditional, washed down with a sauce to "eat and cry for more"... In fact, as Culture Trip web page states: "Francesinha, is a hearty meal of epic proportions, served up with a generous pile of French fries and doused in a trademark sauce." But we also carry salads, vegetarian Francesinhas and steaks!... And for lunch traditional portuguese dishes!
