ICON Duplo Ribeira is situated in the very centric and Costumbrista neighbourhood of the Ribeira in Porto right beside the Maria Pia bridge built by Eiffel. Located on São João Street, the hotel is part of an endless number of steep streets full of traditional shops and new gastronomic offerings that define the new city that Porto is becoming. The hotel is made up of two buildings, each housing different types of accommodation in terms of decoration, however also similar in the excellence and quality of the services on offer. The “Original Building” respects the architectural “gestures” of the city of Porto: granite lintels, tiles on the walls and a large skylight from the main staircase. The classic-inspired decoration conveys the seniority and taste for noble materials inherited from the English influence, present in Porto throughout its history. The lobby also has a space to enjoy breakfast made with top quality ingredients and references to Portuguese cuisine. The “Custom Building” offers something much more synthetic however also provides gestures that anchor into the decoration of the city of Porto. A chromatic range in fine tune with the tiles that are found all around the city, granite walls, leather and, above all, wood serving as the most important aspect of the city´s centuries-old winery tradition. The building also offers a number of special rooms; some in the form of duplex room, others with views of the cathedral, and others with incredible views of mosaic roofs which make up Porto´s skyline.
