This museum is associated with the 'Traditional Dancing and Singing Group of Sobreira Formosa', the village in which the museum is situated. This group is managed by Isilda Martins and it is under her guidance that the objects, mostly from around Sobreira Formosa, have been collected over the years since trhe groups formation in 1979.
