S. Torpes is, for many travellers, the first mandatory stop. It is where you invariably remember the smell of the sea and the countryside, the noise of the waves and the feeling that the well-deserved rest is just beginning. Arte e Sal is a well-deservedly successful restaurant that features the happy combination of an experienced cuisine, a privileged environment and a level of service that only an experienced host can provide. But it is mainly to the excellent fish of the coast that it owes its reputation. The menu is mainly based on fresh fish, brought every morning. Sea bass, sea bream and sea bream jump directly to the grill and from there, to the dish of their lovers. As a side dish, you can opt for some of Alentejo's best traditions, among 'migas de espigos', 'sherém de berbigão' and 'açorda de ovas'. You can count on an extensive wine cellar, which is mainly from the region, with excellent white wines to enjoy as fresh as the fish they accompany.
