About

The origin of Vasques De Carvalho dates back to the mid 19th century and the family's wine company which has always transformed its production into fortified wine, selling a part of it to export businesses and ageing the other part, making it even more valuable. In the mid 20th century, the family began trading in Port Wine, using their own grapes and also buying some from other producers, and then exporting the wine. This strategic change enabled a significant increase of the stocks. The heirs of these assets created the company Vasques de Carvalho, adding to their portfolio the production of Douro DOC wines Due to the increasing interest of people in the wine subject, and in order to advertise its Port and Douro Wine range, Vasques De Carvalho started an enotourism project, in Gaia and in the Douro region. Vasques de Carvalho wines can be tasted and purchased in a visit to our cellar in Regua, which is also the head office of the company.
