The Romanian Athenaeum, locally known as Ateneul Roman, stands as a grand neoclassical monument in the heart of Bucharest. Completed in 1888, its striking domed façade and ornate interior have made it the city's most prestigious concert hall and the home of the George Enescu Philharmonic. The hall’s vast auditorium, with 794 seats arranged in stalls and loges, has hosted countless world‑class performances and historic events, including the 1919 conference that unified Romania's territories.
