Documented since 1916, inaugurated in 1984 with the opening of its first section — "The History of Architecture Education", the UAUIM Documentary Exhibition Center reflects the history of architecture and architectural education in Romania, being the only collection of its kind in the country. It presents, on the one hand, the 120 years of evolution of architecture education from its establishment until the 90s, and on the other, the evolution of Romanian architecture and the identity of the guild. Today, Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urban Planning the continuation of the The School of Architecture, the oldest school of architecture in Romania, is partly presented through the Museum's heritage. The Museum initiated a series of research projects of the university heritage, projects that resulted in a series of publications as well as a series of archives available online.
