GENERAL INFORMATION: The oldest, privately owned youth hostel in Romania can accommodate up to 80 guests in 18 rooms. It is an ideal location for school trips and students as well as individual travellers and families. The hostel is comprised of three houses which were built in the 18th century and have been renovated in 2001. LOCATION: Located in the heart of the medieval castle in Sighisoara, the hostel is a great base for tours around the city. The clock tower as well as all the other sights can be reached within minutes from the hostel. Also, there are numerous souvenir shops, cafes and museums close by. It takes 6 minutes (by taxi/about 1,50EUR) or 15 minutes (by foot) to get from the local train and bus station to the hostel. SERVICES: We offer free wi-fi, laundry service, daily Romanian newspaper (in German) and a multilingual book exchange. There is the opportunity to store your luggage before/after check-in/check-out. Debit and credit cards are accepted. Please use the public parking lots in the Lower City, if you travel with your own car (5 minutes walking distance). RESTAURANT: There is a restaurant directly connected to the Burg Hostel which serves Romanian as well as international cuisine (vegetarian options are available). The menu is written in Romanian, Hungarian, English and German. Extra option during the summer: Get yourself a scoop of ice-cream at the ice-cream bar right at the hostel. ROOMS: The Burg hostel offers room for up to 80 guests in the following categories: 1 single room 8 double rooms 2 3-bed rooms 2 4-bed rooms 3 5-bed rooms 2 6-bed rooms Most of the rooms have their own bathroom with a shower and a toilet. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: We have a separate conference room (max. 25-30 persons). Further, there is also a common room equipped with a bar where you can play table soccer or table tennis.
