About
Csiszár Spa The spa is located in Transylvania, Kovászna county, Bálványosfürdő. Equipped with hot water tubs, saunas, wet and dry mofettas, surrounded by an electric guard for the safety of the guests. You can get to Csiszár Fürdő, located on the mountain, on a forest footpath. Along the path that leads through the wonderful forest nature, there are many sources of drinkable wine water. Benches, stools and stairs make the 10-15 minute walk up to the baths easier. Each of the spa's 8 pools has wine water with a different and individual mineral composition. Information boards indicate the history and healing effects of each pool and spring. Csiszár Fürdő has been the most popular excursion destination in Kézdivásárhely and its surroundings for the last 100 years. In 1895, distiller Dénes Csiszár built "Feredő" below Bálványos, in the forest part of Torja. "Bálványos" is one of the most characteristic tourist destinations in Háromszék. The Bálványosi castle, the Stinking Cave, which is unique in the world, the volcanic Szent Anna lake, and more than 50 sources of wine water attracted visitors here more than a hundred years ago. At that time, the Csiszár Spa was also built here, which includes 16 medicinal springs. Of these, 8 are included in the spa pool, another 2 can be used for drinking therapy and a spring feeds the therapeutic gas spa built on top of it, the large "Mofetta". There is also a smaller mofetta, the "Man Power Mofetta". Many people also like "Eyewater". Four pools are so large that they are also suitable for swimming. Csiszárfürdő experienced its second golden age from 1960 to 1990 after its foundation. A heated tub treatment center, hotel and restaurant were built under the cold pools. In 1990, the state medical center was closed. In 2012, the spa returned to the ownership of the grandsons of the former spa builder Dénes Csiszár, who, with the help of the community, organized a spa renovation club, renovated the pools, bought the buildings and once again put the springs to use for the large number of visitors. The financial support of the Hungarian state played a big role in order to organize the kalákas and carry out the renovation works.
