Vogel Ski Center
About
Nestled above the pristine waters of Lake Bohinj, the Vogel Ski Resort is Slovenia’s premier ski destination and a year‑round attraction for adventure seekers. The resort opened in 1964 and spans 0.78 square kilometres, offering 22 kilometres of scenic pistes, 8 kilometres of cross‑country trails, and a dedicated snowboard park that draws thrill‑seeking riders every season. With a vertical drop of 1240 m, the resort’s top station sits at 1800 m while the base lies at 560 m, yielding dramatic alpine views and fresh powder. Vogel’s lift network consists of eight state‑of‑the‑art draws: a classic funifor, a single‑chair lift, a double‑chair, two four‑chair lifts, and a renowned four‑chair called Orlove glave built in 2007. The newer gondola, ‘Zadnji Vogel’, which opened in 2023, provides a fast route to the highest slopes. In summer months, the Orlove glave quad chairlift offers visitors the chance to ascend the peaks for hiking and paragliding. Thanks to the resort’s climate‑controlled cable car that reaches 1535 m, even non‑skiers can access panoramic viewpoints and bustling ski villages. The resort is committed to environmental stewardship, and snowmaking is strictly prohibited in the surrounding Triglav National Park. Guests can indulge in a comprehensive ski school—with dedicated instructors and equipment rentals—alongside a range of on‑site restaurants and lodging options. Whether you’re a fledgling skier in the spring, a seasoned prospector in the winter, or an avid hiker in the summer, Vogel offers a fairy‑tale experience with stunning scenery, modern lifts, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to create unforgettable memories on the slopes and beyond.
