The two-story railway station was built in 1846 when the first train arrived to Celje. The construction of the approximately 570 kilometres long railway line connected Celje to Vienna and Trieste, this constituting one of the first milestones in the development of the city's economy. In the middle of the road located next to the railway station, you will find the largest plane tree in Slovenia,
