Tuhinj valley spreads in the northeast of the Posavje hills in the east-west direction, and in the north Menina separates it from the upper part of the Zadrečka valley. The larger western part was formed by the river Nevljica, and east of the Kozjak pass is the narrower valley of the Motnišnica stream in the Savinja river basin.
