UGM | Maribor Art Gallery is the second-largest museum for modern and contemporary art in Slovenia, boasting a collection of over 10,000 works by Slovenian artists from the late 19th century to the present. The gallery’s collection includes paintings, sculptures, and graphic works, complemented by photography, video art, multimedia installations, and interactive projects. Alongside masterpieces from the most renowned Slovenian visual artists of the past century, visitors can also explore works by influential international artists, promising young creators, and current trends in contemporary art. With its collection and an annual program of approximately 15 special exhibitions – ranging from retrospectives of Slovenian artists to international contemporary art festivals and exhibitions on architecture and design – UGM plays a key role in shaping both the domestic and international art scene.
