The Mesón el Tendio is situated in the small village of Campamento, which is quite close to La Linea and Gibraltar and on the main road to San Roque. It is not in a tourist area, hence the restaurant clientele is mostly Spanish, which provides a friendly and lively atmosphere. The standard of food and cleanliness is high and the restaurant is decorated and furnished to a very good standard. One of the specialities of the house provides diners with the opportunity to barbeque there food at the table over hot coals, and this appears to be very popular. The members of staff are friendly and can help if you do not speak Spanish. We have been visiting this restaurant since the 1980’s when we lived in Gibraltar and have seen it change from a Bar Restaurant (La Bodagita) for locals and visitors from Gibraltar, to its currently upgraded status and can highly recommend it.
