Parador de Gredos
About
The Parador de Gredos, perched on the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos just 60 km from Ávila, is the network’s first historic guesthouse. Built in 1928 from the stone and slate of the medieval Villacastín manor, it blends traditional Castilian architecture with rustic wooden details, offering panoramic terrace views of rugged granite ridges and pine‑lined valleys. The site also holds cultural significance as the place where the fathers of the Spanish Constitution met in 1978, with the Salón de los Ponentes preserved for visitors. Guests can enjoy regional gastronomy, stargazing programmes certified by the Starlight program, and nearby natural attractions such as the Cuevas del Águila and the Circo de Gredos hiking trail. Whether you’re after a romantic mountain retreat, a family adventure, or a culturally immersive experience, the Parador de Gredos delivers a uniquely Spanish blend of heritage, hospitality, and alpine serenity.
