About
On the left bank of the Adaja River, the Los Cuatro Postes monument offers a stunning panoramic view of the walled city of Avila. The site features four monolithic Doric columns joined by an architrave bearing the city’s coat of arms and topped with a granite cross. First built in 1566, the monument is steeped in legend, said to be linked to early Roman temples and to the Marian miracle of Saint Teresa of Ávila’s family. It’s an ideal spot for sunset photography and for learning about Avila’s religious and architectural history.
