The Alicante Tram, officially known as the Alicante Metropolitan Tram, is a modern rail transport network that weaves through the city of Alicante and its surrounding coastal area in the Valencian Community, Spain. Since its opening in 2003, the system has grown to six distinct lines and 71 stations, handling more than 13 million passengers annually. The network blends a partially underground light‑rail core with tram‑train services that link Alicante to Benidorm, El Campello and Denia, alongside commuter rail links to Altea, Calp and Dénia. Modern underground stations such as Mercado and Luceros showcase contemporary design and accessibility, providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience for both daily commuters and tourists.
