Its origin is believed to be associated to the nearby Romanesque church of San Paio de Buscás.The guesthouse is on one of the most ancient roads leading Pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela: the English Way to Saint James. Its origins go back in time to 1761 when it become the historic Camino Real (Royal Road) connecting Madrid and A Coruña and which, in turn, overlapped with the Roman Road Romana Via XX Braga (Bracara Augusta) Astorga (Asturica Augusta).
