Calo Des Moro
About
Calo des Moro, a hidden cove nestled within steep cliffs on Mallorca’s southeastern coast, has earned a reputation as one of the island’s best-kept secrets. The 40 metre stretch of fine, white sand is framed by dramatic limestone cliffs and surrounded by crystal‑clear turquoise waters, offering an idyllic setting for a quiet day of swimming or snorkeling. Visitors reach the beach via a short drive onto a private road, followed by a 50‑meter walk and a steep staircase that descends into the cove; the access route adds to the beach’s secluded charm. The beach’s calm, shallow waters make it especially attractive to families with young children, while snorkelers can enjoy outstanding visibility of marine life and the limestone formations beneath the surface. Although Calo des Moro offers no on‑shore facilities, there are plenty of shaded parking spaces nearby and the neighbouring town of Cala Santanyi provides a range of restaurants, bars and shops for those who wish to spend a full day on the island. To avoid crowds, the best time to visit is early in the morning, especially during the busy July–August period, or on a weekday when locals prefer the quieter stretches.
