About
Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park is the largest protected area in Spain and the second largest in Europe, covering more than 2,099 km² of rugged mountains, deep valleys and dense pine forests. Established in 1986, the park has been declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve and a Special Protection Area for migratory birds, making it a haven for biodiversity. Over 2,170 species of flora have been catalogued, including many endemic plants, while the fauna ranges from Iberian ibex and wild boar to griffon vultures and golden eagles. Visitors can explore scenic hiking trails, historic villages and the dramatic panoramic viewpoint of Puerto de las Palomas, making the park a favorite destination for families, nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
