About

Parque Natural de la Serranía de Cuenca is a sprawling 73,726‑hectare protected area in the heart of Castilla‑La Mancha. Its steep limestone cliffs, winding rivers, and cloud‑filled valleys create a living laboratory of karst landscapes, attracting geologists and nature lovers alike. Visitors can explore iconic formations such as Ciudad Encantada, Ventano del Diablo, Laguna de Uña, and the misty Hoz del Júcar while hiking the well‑marked trails that connect them. The park’s diverse ecosystems support a rich array of wildlife: golden eagles, buzzards, otters, and red deer roam the forests, while the pine‑dominated slopes host scrub oak and gentian‑rich meadows that bloom spectacularly each spring. Over 200 vertebrate species have been recorded, making the park a prime destination for naturalists and bird watchers. During the day, guided walks, canoe and kayak trips on the River Tajo, rock‑climbing, rappelling, BTT, multiscale, and paintball adventures are offered, all managed by local eco‑tourism operators who provide qualified guides, safety equipment, and environmental education. The park itself is free to enter; however, special sites such as Ciudad Encantada require a small entrance fee of 3 €. Most of these experiences can be booked online through the official Asdon Aventura portal (http://www.asdonaventura.com/multiaventura/index.php).
