L’Esplai is a family and comfortable 2-star hostel situated in Emporda region, close to the Costa Brava beautiful beaches and the most important touristic spots in Girona province. Those include the “Dali Triangle”: The Dali Museum in Figueres, the house in Port Lligat and the castle in Pubol; the National Parks of Cap de Creus and the Emporda Wetlands; the Roman Ruins of Empuries; the historic Jewish Quarter in Girona city, the protected sea area of Illes Medes; the medieval towns like Peratallada… A rich country where nature, history, culture, gastronomy and wine will welcome you. Out village, in the main road to l’Escala, easily accessible from the AP-7 motorway and with free parking for our guests make of the Esplai an ideal spot from where start your exploration to this contrasted territory, to know the best places as well as to have a break to Girona city (23 km.) or Barcelona (135 km.) We are surrounded by a rural landscape, with views to the Montgri hill on the south and to Girona’s Pyrenees on the north, just 4 km. far from l’Escala town and beaches, which make of the hostel a quiet place for families to enjoy a pleasant stay. Although it was built at the end of 70’s and the building still maintains the original structure, all rooms have been renewed few years ago and all of them have a complete private bathroom. We have double, triple and family room with capacity up to 5 people, all of them equipped with air conditioning, heating, free WiFi access and international TV channels. In 2011 the management of the hostel was ceased after a long and traditional family ownership very linked to the territory. From 2015, Cesc and Alana got the lead of this project aiming to renew and improve those facilities as well as recover the family tradition and the close attention which have always been the well-known traits of the Esplai.
