Since 1965 Río Real Golf Course is one of most important golf courses in the Costa del Sol. It is located on a gently rolling terrain, the 18 holes and par 72 golf course was designed by Javier Arana, the most brilliant Spaniard golf course architect. Nowadays it is considerated internationally as one of the best golf courses in Andalucía. Río Real lies on a gentle incline which slopes towards the sea, so many of the holes offer magnificent views over the Mediterranean Sea. The golf course, with its exceptional natural surroundings, is not particularly hazardous, despite the fact that the river, to which the hotel owes its name, crosses the golf course four times.
