The Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre, situated in the coastal city of Avilés, is a striking modernist landmark that fuses impressive architecture with a vibrant cultural programme. Designed by Brazilian icon Oscar Niemeyer, the complex boasts a soaring 26‑metre observation tower with a panoramic restaurant, a 4,000 m² dome for exhibitions, a 1,000‑seat auditorium with world‑class acoustics, a multipurpose film and performance hall, and a cinema. Its clean white façades, sweeping curved lines, and bold colour accents stand in contrast to the surrounding industrial heritage, making the centre a pivotal hub for concerts, theatre, film screenings, exhibitions, and educational events.
