About

The Castle of Almenara is a unique fortress located in La Mancha de Cuenca. With more than seven hundred years of history, it has been the property of very important figures in the history of Spain. Possibly founded by D. Juan Manuel (1282-1348), it later belonged to D. Pedro González de Mendoza, the Great Cardinal (1428-1495) and to Doña Ana Mendoza de la Cerda, Princess of Éboli (1540-1592). At present, a consolidation and study process has begun that is offering very interesting results, as well as opening to guided tours and a series of other activities. With this, we intend to incorporate this monumental building to the set of castles that can be visited and accessible in the province of Cuenca and by extension to the rest of Castilla - La Mancha.
