Coves de Campanet
About
The Coves de Campanet, a spectacular underground sanctuary on the southern slope of Monte de Sant Miquel in Mallorca, offers visitors a chance to step back in time more than ten million years. Spanning roughly 3,200 m² at a depth of about 50 m, the caves feature stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and natural stalactites, making it a geologist’s dream. Visitors can explore a self‑guided audio route that lasts approximately 40 minutes, passing by themed chambers such as the "Sala Romántica," the "Sala del Lago," and the "Sala de la Palmera." The site has also yielded paleontological treasures, including fossils of the extinct Myotragus balearicus, adding an extra layer of scientific intrigue. Open daily from 10 AM, the caves close on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, and a modest entry fee of €17 applies.
