Santuari de Lluc
About
The Santuari de Lluc is a 13‑century monastery and spiritual centre perched in the municipality of Escorca at the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana on Majorca. The basilica, constructed between 1622 and 1691 and later restored by Antoni Gaudí, houses a rich collection of religious art and serves as the heart of the sanctuary, which has become the island’s most visited pilgrimage site. The surrounding grounds feature a botanical garden established in 1956, showcasing endemic Mallorcan flora, and a museum that displays archaeological artifacts from the region. Visitors can also experience the famed boys’ choir "Els Blauets", known for its classical choral repertoire and annual performances. Accommodation is available in traditional monk‑style rooms, allowing guests to stay within the monastery’s tranquil mountain setting. Whether you come as a pilgrim, history enthusiast, nature lover or family traveller, the Santuari de Lluc provides a unique blend of faith, culture and natural beauty.
